Astral Ascent just got a massive injection of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 content in a new update which just landed for free in the PC, PS, and Switch versions of the game.
There is a lot to unpack in the so-called For those who come after Update, with new stages and bosses added to the game, bringing further variety to an already content-rich action platformer.
The update includes three bosses (Golgra, the Mime, and Petank), six familiar summons to help in a pinch, and three new stages drawn directly from the world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (Lumière, the Gestral Village, and The Campfire).
The devs explain how the new rooms “appear at random before the world-ending boss. Each run, one world is randomly chosen where you’ll be offered the choice between the Andromeda Bar and Expedition 33 content, choose wisely, because if you pass it up, it’s gone for the rest of your run!”
To access the new content, you just have to have beaten the main game. There’s also a new menu for DLC, so you can track what’s what.
Finally, Hibernian Workshop hinted at what’s next for Astral Ascent, with the promise of a new Boss Rush mode in the works. They’re not going to rush it out the door, though, so stay tuned for more updates soon!
