Rogueliker

We might be a little late to the party on this one, but with it being an absolute, unmissable steal, we couldn’t resist shouting about the fact that Balatro is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2.

What’s new in the Switch 2 version you might ask? Well, it reportedly adds a 60 FPS bump, HD rumble 2, and is now compatible with Mouse Mode.

In the UK, this enhanced version is priced at just £12.79 ($14.99), and it’s a FREE upgrade for owners of the original Switch game.

We included the original release of Balatro in our list of the Best Roguelikes and Roguelites on Switch and Switch 2. If you’ve been sleeping on this addictive roguelike deckbuilder and own a Switch 2, you really now have no excuse!

You can check out the trailer for Balatro below, which highlights the free DLC card packs added since launch, including decks inspired by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Among Us, Dave the Diver, and Vampire Survivors.

Would you like to know more?

Still with me? Of course you are! If you want to keep reading about great hand-picked roguelikes, this website is absolutely chock-full of them. Head over to the Guides Page for a concentrated hit of roguish games, organised via sub-genre and platform.

What’s more, there are always going to be new lists for emerging trends as well as fresh titles to highlight. This is because my backlog is embarrassingly long, and so I’m always trying to balance the new games that arrive in my inbox with playing the stuff I already have.

Finally, if you would like to keep track of our original reporting and support the work that we do here in this most niche corner of the Interweb, please make sure we’re one of your trusted sources on Google News. Alternatively, there’s an RSS feed, if you prefer.

You can also join our communities on Reddit and Bluesky, where I/we post all of our content and where you can share your thoughts and recommendations. We also have a burgeoning presence on YouTube. Come and say hello; we try to keep all of these spaces welcoming!
