Good news, you ball-bouncing beauties: there’s a new expansion coming to Breakout-inspired action-roguelite Ball X Pit, and based on what I’ve just seen in the new trailer, it looks like a bunch of fun is coming our way in just a few weeks!
Devolver Digital, the game’s publisher, confirmed the release date for Ball X Pit’s expansion, Risen Ballbylon, which is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch 1+2, PS5+4, Xbox, iOS, and Android on November 12 (for $6.99 or regional equivalent).
After several free content updates, it’s a big paid-for expansion this time around, with eight new characters to master, as well as an assortment of new balls and other such trimmings.

Apparently, the fresh content “dramatically” expands the potential synergies you can create, and we’re told to expect new gameplay mechanics designed for experienced players – you’ll have to be reasonably experienced to play Risen Ballbylon; the new content comes after the main game is completed.
The Risen in the title alludes to the fact that this time the lift goes up instead of down, and we’ll be able to explore the former city that your characters once called home. It sounds like things got a bit weird up there due to the meteor that forced you underground.
The announcement confirms four new battlefields, each with new bosses and enemies. We’ve also been teased that there’s a total of 45 new passives and two dozen new balls. Base-building also got an upgrade, with over 20 new buildings to construct.
Check out the new trailer and see my original Ball X Pit review if you’re not familiar with the game and somehow ended up reading all the way to the end of this article anyway.
