I know I’m not the only potato-loving sicko out there who is looking forward to more Brotato when the Primal Dread expansion eventually arrives. Good news, my friends: we don’t have long to wait.

As confirmed during this evening’s Triple-I Initiative, Evil Empire, the event organisers, took a moment to confirm that Brotato: Primal Dread will be with us on November 2, when it will set you back a reasonable $3.99/€3.99/£3.39.

I’m sorry, console-owning friends, but you and your fellow mobile gamers are going to have to wait until early 2027 for your first taste of Primal Dread.

Evolving Gameplay

The trailer that landed alongside the announcement briefly showed off the game’s new evolution system, a stat that you can push in two different directions. Not only will it change your approach, but your enemies will start to evolve, too. There are two paths – Mecha and Mutation – and here’s how Evil Empire explained it:

“Reinforce your weapons by choosing the Mecha path and gain some additional stats! You will have to face deadly mecha dinosaurs that WILL shoot lasers (because lasers are cool) and leave oil puddles all over the map.”

On the other hand, the Mutation path is going to be a bit more chaotic, as you can “multiply the effects of your items by copying them! Mutation is the path of chaos and power getting out of control. It will also mean going face to face with mutant dinosaurs who will spread acid everywhere they can.”

And on that final note, I shall leave you…
