As someone who recently watched his lovely wife obsessively complete every single thing she could in Dave the Diver, I’m very aware of just how many crossover events there have already been in the family-friendly diving roguelite.
Now you can add one more to the list, and it’s a big name, too. That’s because Dave the Diver is getting crossover content with a sci-fi survival epic that you’re probably already familiar with: Subnautica 2.
The DAVE THE DIVER – Subnautica 2 Content Pack is the caps-lock-on title for the expansion, and Mintrocket describes it as “an all-new crossover adventure. New waters, strange creatures, and unexpected discoveries await beyond the portal.”

The Portal alluded to will take Dave (and Bancho, by the looks of it) to the ocean moon of Proteus, which Subnautica players will already know is filled with strange creatures and amazing discoveries.
There’s no release date for the Subnautica 2 Content Pack, but we do know that the DLC is coming in early 2027, and best of all, it’s going to be free. Interestingly, it sounds like it’s going to be the final DLC for Dave the Diver.
“For our final DLC expansion, we wanted to create something that felt especially meaningful, and a Subnautica collaboration is what players have been asking us about for a long time,” explained Jaeho Hwang, Mintrocket’s Studio Director.
“Both games are set underwater, but Subnautica has such a distinct approach to underwater exploration, so working with the Subnautica 2 team gave us a chance to bring a new wave to Dave the Diver experience. We’re really excited for players to see what we’ve been working on, and we hope this collaboration gives them one more fresh and surprising adventure with Dave and his friends, old and new.”
As revealed during The Triple-I Initiative this evening, the DLC is launching in early 2027, and it’s heading to Steam PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 1+2. No mention of the mobile versions of the game, so I’ll keep an eye out for more on that.
