Banana-costume-wearing survivalists rejoice – Deadly Days: Roadtrip is set to get off the Early Access bus later this month, on October 29th.
Not only is the quirky bullet heaven about to leave Early Access on PC, but the game is also preparing to spread its proverbial wings and make the leap to consoles, with simultaneous releases planned on PS5 and Xbox Series.
I’ve played a bit of this one, and while it’s not the deepest game like Vampire Survivors, it does have a ton of personality and a really well-executed road trip theme.
Best of all is the inventory system, which balances item merging and space management to create a really engaging side-activity that keeps things feeling fresh between all the looting and auto-shooting.
It has been nine months since the last time I had a proper look, which is plenty of time for Pixelsplit to have added a bunch of new elements to their zombie-themed survivors-like, including local co-op, which is the major new addition coming in the big 1.0 update.
All told, I’m looking forward to taking Deadly Days: Roadtrip out for another spin some time around October 29th, when it leaves Early Access on PC (Win) and launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
