If you’re a fan of turn-based roguelikes and bullet heavens, then Delve Survivors is a genre mash-up that you might like to check out. The core hook is that when you move, so does the world around you, but with the added threat of swarms of enemies.
I’ve played the demo a bit this week, and when I noticed that the developers at iDiOSLAB had dropped a last-minute update with some late game content for players who are enjoying the Next Fest demo, I thought I’d match that energy and tell you about it.

The pixel-art in Delve Survivors really did take me back in time, and reminded me of the ancient sprites I enjoyed as a kid in a bunch of SSI RPGs – Pools of Radiance is the one I always remember most fondly.
It might look archaic – in a cute way – but it has a much more contemporary approach to gameplay. In some respects it plays like a very traditional roguelike, one turn at a time, but it’s not long before the screen fills up with Vampire Survivors-inspired chaos.
The fifth dungeon added to the demo today is called The Demon’s Gate, and it’s a late game dungeon intended to challenge experienced players, complete with a new boss called The Demon Guard!
The demo for Delve Survivors, all five dungeons of it, is available from now until the end of Next Fest, so if you’d like to give it a go, now’s the time. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for it to launch on November 12th.
