If Vampire Survivors is your thing, then there’s a new kid on the block to tell you about: Driveloop.
Actually, rather than being “on the block” this one’s “going around the block”. That’s because Driveloop is a vehicular survivors-like that puts you behind the wheel of a classic car and then has you slipping and sliding around a post-apocalyptic landscape filled with hordes of strange robotic steampunk enemies. Phew.
There’s a lot to take in right there, but the new gameplay trailer below does a good job of highlighting the game’s finer points, which in my mind definitely includes the cars you’ll be driving. I’m also keen to see more of the game’s locations, which include the deserts around Berlin, and the urban jungle of Paris – colour me intrigued!
For what it’s worth, I’ve always admired the visual style of the vintage cars that you’ll get access to in Driveloop, and it’s certainly a change of pace from other driving games that are operating in the same niche, such as Earl vs. the Mutants and Champion Shift.
Developed by Stunbyte, this one’s due to drop in April 2025. You can potentially get behind the wheel sooner, though, as the studio is inviting participants to sign up for a playtest.
After the playtest there’ll be a demo, and you can find out about both, and wishlist Driveloop, over on the game’s new Steam page. Now, friend, behold the game’s art deco style in the new trailer below!
