Garden Souls is certainly one to watch if you’re a fan of platforming and side-scrolling combat, with the roguelite platform game recently confirmed for PC (Win), PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series.

After last month’s first playtest, developer Statera Studio is back with an updated slice of the game in the form of the new Garden Souls demo, available now on Steam.

Garden Souls has you controlling one of four garden princesses and mastering elemental attacks as you battle through a host of floral biomes. In fact, I’d say that the whole thing has a lovely theme, and I think the pixel art looks fantastic, too.

For what it’s worth, the devs themselves highlighted the game’s combo system as its standout feature. As they explained it, you can spend points via the “Cancel Bar” to chain moves to other actions, such as jumping, dashing, or your special attacks.
