Hades II is out now, I can confirm, and you can pick-up the game from either Steam (where it is already Steam Deck approved) or the Epic Games Store. Like many of you, I can’t wait to get stuck in.
While the game downloads, there are a few things to mention. First up, Hades II is likely to be in EA for the rest of 2024, although there is no specific date that Supergiant Games is working towards.
The EA version already has more content in it when compared to the first game, but there’s plenty more to come, with “key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems” still to be added. That includes the game’s full ending, so bear that in mind.

In terms of what else we can expect from the final version of the game, the Steam listing was very instructional:
“We expect the full version of Hades II to include a more-complete, more-polished set of features and content in comparison to the Early Access version, along with Steam Achievements and the true ending to the story.
During Early Access, our plan is to release a Major Update every few months containing new features and content, followed soon after by patches to shore up any issues. We are looking to release the first of these Major Updates later this year.
An in-game Development Roadmap provides more context on where we’re at in development and our current priorities.”
Inside the game client there are a few more interesting tidbits. The highlight is the fact that there’s a new region still to come, probably this year.
Supergiant is also planning to update the starting area in the Crossroads Update, so you can make it feel more like home. There will also be at least one new weapon and more weapon aspects.
Of course, the first Hades also appeared on all of the consoles, and this is certainly the plan for this sequel. The console versions of the game will naturally follow once it is content complete on PC.
There’s plenty more detail in the Steam listing about the game, which has you battling the Titan of Time, but I’m going to stop there as my download is nearly done… Here’s more about the story of Hades 2 if you’d like to know more!
