With Slay the Spire 2, Streets of Rogue 2, and Enter the Gungeon 2 all slated for 2026, it’s already shaping up to be the year of the roguelike sequel. Joining that list is Hellcard, with a follow-up to the roguelite deckbuilder officially confirmed for later in the year.
Hellcard II brings the tactical combat of the original to a whole new dimension, with it functioning as a pop-up adventure. Players will no longer clear rooms; they will traverse the pages of a story, making tough choices as a team as they discover the truth behind a dragon menace.
“The original HELLCARD was defined by its tactical positioning and emergent tactics, and HELLCARD II takes this even further.” said Konstanty Kalicki at Thing Trunk. “It leans into the pen-n-paper aspect of dungeon crawling: building your own stories with each run, customizing your characters, deciding on side quests together while trying to figure out the story. It’s the book of adventures we always wanted to make.”
As mentioned up top, we don’t yet know the release date, but the devs have mentioned that it’s coming to consoles as well as PC in 2026.
