High Fructose is a fast-paced fruit-slaying FPS roguelike, inspired by Brotato and Ghost Runner

A roguelike where you play as a cute fox and slash your way through swarms of monstrous fruit Ghost Runner-style? That’s the wild premise behind High Fructose, the latest project from Chazak Games, an indie studio founded by former DOOM animator Chris Cantero.

In High Fructose, you step into the paws of a ninja fox leading a rebellion against juiced-up produce. Players can unleash power melee counters, collect ingredients mid-battle and then craft devastating recipes to help turn the tide of battle. Just like other Survivor-likes, attacks are auto-fired and waves get progressively more intense.

Inspired by Ghost Runner, Brotato, and Fruit Ninja, the game features semi-open procedurally generated battlefields that players can dash, jump, and wall-run through. Up to 12 different weapons can be wielded at once, and there are several animal ninjas that you can play as including a fox, wolverine, elephant, and a monkey.

No release date has been confirmed for High Fructose, but it’s planned to receive a demo next month during Steam Next Fest. As well as PC (Win), it’s also heading to Xbox One and Xbox Series.
