How Many Dudes? The Roguelike Autobattler has been picking unrealistic and absurd fights for three months now, and in that time, the surprisingly brutal auto-brawler has proven extremely popular.

The game was unleashed by Butterscotch Shenanigans on PC (Win) on July 30, and since then, the autobattler has clocked up an impressive 300,000 sales. The game got off to a great start with 100k of those sales coming in the first two days, but it has clearly enjoyed continued success.

The devs have been beavering away on unlikely matchups since launch, and the upcoming 1.1 Update has lots of new content for players to enjoy, including several new dudes to experiment with: Soccer, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Coach, and Broadcaster Dudes, to be precise.

On top of that, we’re also getting a new challenge mode, plus there’s going to be a reworked upgrade system that now confers permanent stat boosts when the update lands on October 29th.

My personal journey with How Many Dudes started more recently, in the run-up to the big 1.1 update. I’ve been enjoying my first few hours with the game, and I’ll be back in the near future for a proper review.

Still with me? Of course you are! If you want to keep reading about great hand-picked roguelikes, this website is absolutely chock-full of them. Head over to the Guides Page for a concentrated hit of roguish games, organised via sub-genre and platform.

What’s more, there are always going to be new lists for emerging trends as well as fresh titles to highlight. This is because my backlog is embarrassingly long, and so I’m always trying to balance the new games that arrive in my inbox with playing the stuff I already have.
