As a fan of physical media, it always warms my black little heart to see more indie titles getting the physical treatment they deserve.
One of the latest indie titles to land a physical release is the roguelite beat ’em up Kiborg, which is getting a boxed PS5 edition on 29th August. Sadly for Xbox fans, no physical release has been confirmed for the platform, despite it being available digitally on Xbox Series.
Released in April, Kiborg is an intense, bloody roguelite set in a dreary dystopian world. It sees players step into the jumpsuit of a prisoner who has been wrongfully sentenced to 1,300 years for a crime he didn’t commit. To earn their freedom, they have to win a twisted reality show, where prisoners are forced to beat each other to death.
I reviewed Kiborg back when it launched on PS5 this April and had a good time overall, despite it having some rough edges. In my review, I said: “Its visuals aren’t the easiest on the eyes and its early game can be a drag, but once you hit your stride, the build variety and satisfying combat will make it hard for you to put down.“
