One of the most interesting segments during Gamescom Opening Night Live was a musical performance showcasing one of the standout tunes from the soundtrack to Mewgenics.
Developed by Ed McMillen and Tyler Glaiel, Mewgenics is a masterful turn-based strategy game with roguelite trappings and lots of cats. Cat fighting, cat breeding, and cat genetics.
As we noted in our review, Mewgenics also has a banging soundtrack, and we got to see the first live performance of it during ONL, with Ridiculon delivering a fine (if not slightly odd) performance.
At the end of the show came the headline: Mewgenics is heading to PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series on September 8th. Not long to wait then!
Still with me? Of course you are! If you want to keep reading about great hand-picked roguelikes, this website is absolutely chock-full of them. Head over to the Guides Page for a concentrated hit of roguish games, organised via sub-genre and platform.
What’s more, there are always going to be new lists for emerging trends as well as fresh titles to highlight. This is because my backlog is embarrassingly long, and so I’m always trying to balance the new games that arrive in my inbox with playing the stuff I already have.
