If you want to relive the glory days of classic football sticker albums from the 80s and 90s, Nutmeg might just be the game for you!
Described as a mix of Balatro-like deckbuilding and football (or soccer for our American readers) management strategy, Nutmeg is coming from the good folks over at Sumo Sheffield and Secret Mode.
According the announcement presser, this nostalgia-infused card game is set to kick off on Windows PC, some point during 2026.
In Nutmeg, players can manage their favourite teams through 20 years of the beautiful game. They can start with a Division Four team and take them to the top of the table to unlock the country’s leading teams.

Players will manage their teams by completing tasks such as setting training schedules, transferring players, answering calls from the press, buying merchandise and adjusting ticket prices for home games.
Then, on the pitch, they will experience fast-paced card battles. In this respect, they can dive into the match at key points to stop an attack, gain control of the ball, and score a well-timed goal.
As a life-long football fan who used to buy all the old Panini sticker books, Nutmeg looks like a nostalgic love letter to retro football, and I can’t wait to dive into the full game.
If that sounds like your cup of tea as well, there’s already a playable demo available on Steam PC (Win). Meanwhile, you can check out the deckbuilder’s goal-tastic announcement trailer below:
