Last month our Kieran took a look at Out of Time, a new genre-twisting multiplayer roguelite by Manticore Games. It’s heading to Epic Games Store as a timed exclusive, but until today we didn’t know when.
This is the games media, so I’m going to make you wait for that date. Also, as this is the games media, every announcement gets a new trailer, and Manticore Games has duly provided one. Check that out below.
The Fortnite vibes are strong with this one, and not just because this is the work of a studio with close ties to Epic. I think Out of Time’s “anything goes” attitude, which has players battling enemies from a variety of different settings, will be the key the game’s success, if it’s able to build the critical mass of players that any multiplayer-focused game needs to thrive.
As for when players will be able to get their hands on the game… the Out of Time release date is confirmed as Septmeber 25, 2025 (and it’ll cost $25). As mentioned, the game is a timed-exclusive on EGS, but as we’ve recently seen with Witchfire, players are also willing to wait for a game to come to Steam, so it’ll be interesting to see how many early adopters there are.
