Gearbox and Hopoo Games used the so-called Festival of Gup to make a number of announcements relating to the Risk of Rain franchise. Buckle in, there is LOADS to tell you about as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of the first game.

First up, though, we’ve got a review for you. Risk of Rain Returns is a remake of the aforementioned original, and it’s excellent. Read Rogueliker’s RORR review here.

Console gamers will also be delighted to hear that Survivors of the Void is finally out on PS4, Switch, and Xbox. More interesting than that though, is the news that Risk of Rain 2 is getting another full expansion.

Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of the Storm

Seekers of the Storm will introduce new Survivors, and “tons of new items, enemies, stages, and more.” We’re also getting day and night phases, and we know a little bit about the new big bad.

The False Son has been constructed by the Lemurians in the image of Providence, but he has been “corrupted by Mithrix’s Beads of Fealty.”

You can see the dev diary attached for even more insight into the new expansion.

Risk of Rain: Hostile Worlds

Another interesting reveal was Risk of Rain: Hostile Worlds, an upcoming free-to-play action-RPG that’s heading to iOS and Android. Frima Studio are handling dev duties.

According to the presser, players will “assemble teams of Survivors from the franchise’s largest cast to date to explore the Versanto system.”

Finally, they’re making a documentary, which will go live this week. Stay tuned for more details on that.

If you want even more Risk of Rain, we’ve got exclusive gameplay and more trailers ready for your viewing pleasure.
