Below you will find our release day hands-on impressions, but if you keep on scrolling down, you’ll find the original news article on Cult of the Lamb’s next major update.
Sins of the Flesh hands-on impressions
Here at Rogueliker towers, we (the eldest and I) have been working our way through the new content in the Sins of the Flesh update. Here are our first impressions:
As you will no doubt already know, this free content update is all about sex and violence. More sex than violence, though, so let’s start there. First up, you can get your followers to make babies in the Mating Tent.
Two followers use one sin (I’ll come back to that) to create an egg, which goes in the Hatchery, another new building added in this update. You must then tend to the egg over time and they eventually hatch into a bambino! Awwww.
You can blend the traits of your followers to create better cultists, for example, a follower who is more likely to get in line and do as told.
The cult leader also gets their own tent. I’m not entirely sure what goes on in there, if anything, but it’s there. You can sleep there.
I’m not as drink as you thunk I am
Sin is the fuel that makes the world go around now, and you’ll need to work hard to make the sin you need to thrive in Sins of the Flesh.
There’s a new rhythm based game in the ritual Drum Circle, which is one way to create sin. These intense rituals are fun, but definitely not the star of the show.
More fun is the Drinkhouse. This new building gives you a selection of tiered drinks, including poop juice – yummy. You can brew up your concoctions, direct your followers to get befuddled, and drunk cultists even think silly thoughts, which of course you can read.
The blunderbuss
The final noteworthy thing that we can mention today is the new gun, the Blunderbuss. This creates a quick-fire shotgun-type blast up close, but when charged becomes more like a sniper.
Even on the highest tier, the blunderbuss wasn’t great up against the Kallamar boss, but it is good for grunts. Shots can pass through multiple foes when fully charged, so it pays to line up your enemies.
There’s more to this expansion, including new ways to interact with your followers such as dressing them via the tailor. Indeed, Dear Reader, these are merely our first impressions after a few hours on release day.
There’s even more to the Sins of the Flesh update, but I’m not sure how much more sense I’ll make. I’ve been in the Drinkhouse all day downing freshly brewed poop juice and I’m absolutely shitfaced!
Update January 9
Those of you have been following this story will be delighted to hear that Cult of the Lamb is getting the Sins of the Flesh update on January 16.
I’ll sum things up briefly here but head over to the official Steam page linked elsewhere on this page for the full skinny.
Basically, Sins of the Flesh is a massive free update that introduces several new features and a bunch of new content for players to grapple with.
The main features, the ones alluded to in the title, are new morality progression paths for your cultists to follow, plus the chance for your cultists to fall in love and have babies. Awww.
There’s also a new Blunderbuss weapon that does big damage up close but can be charged for a sniper shot. Not so cute but surely effective!
Throw in a raft of new customisation options via the new tailor, new progression systems for your followers, and the fact that you’ll be able to better optimise your broom to improve things around the place, and you’ve got a lot to get stuck into later this month!
Update December 13
After teasing us for what feels like an age, more of the details surrounding Cult of the Lamb’s upcoming Sins of the Flesh update are starting to firm up. Pun very much intended.
Not only is Massive Monster’s incoming content update well-endowed with new sex mechanics, today we’ve learned that the studio isn’t just pleased to see us, that lamb has got a gun in his pocket.
That’s right, Dear Reader, guns are coming to Cult of the Lamb.
The news came to us via Twitter.com, where the developer shared the following update, along with a little gameplay clip. Take a look below:
While I’ve got your attention, the Twitter.com page for Cult of the Lamb is a most entertaining channel. A bit further down the feed I found this little gem, shared by the community manager.

As someone who has their own skill issues, I did feel for whoever was on the receiving end of this savage developer comment.
Anyway, I’m just sharing social posts now and that’s not what we’re both here for. Please do keep reading for more details about the Sins of the Flesh update, which is coming to all versions of the game.
Oh behave.
First Update
It sounds like your cultish animal friends will be able to make the beast with two backs after Massive Monster confirmed that sex was coming Cult of the Lamb in the Sins of the Flesh update.
The developers promised to “add sex to the game” if they “hit 300k followers by the end of the year.”
Oof, that only took 2 hours
Looks like we are adding Sex to Cult of the Lamb.
Let’s aim for the very beginning of 2024!
If you keep scrolling down for the original article (you absolutely should, I poured my heart and soul into every word) you’ll see everything I’ve written about the update so far.
If all you want is to know when it’s coming: “very early next year” was the original line, and it sounds like the “very beginning of 2024” is likely January, 2024. Can’t wait.
Original Article
Cult of the Lamb developer Massive Monster has got its disciples all whipped up into an excited fervour about an upcoming content offering called Sins of the Flesh.
This free update was unveiled yesterday, when our gracious overlords acknowledged that our “patience [had] not gone unseen.”
Based on the noises coming out of the studio, the team is very much looking forward to sharing their sacrificial offering with us mortals:
“We have been working extremely hard on this update, and there is soooo much more content coming to the game,” they wrote on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Sins of the Flesh release date
The Sins of the Flesh update is due to drop “very early next year” and, according to the developers, it is “packed with new features, stories, and more!”
More news is teased in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned as I’ll update you right here with any interesting developments!
However, if you want to do a little speculative sleuthing of your own, the studio has also confirmed a degree of welcome sneakiness. Apparently, they’ve been teasing the contents of the update over the last few months.
“We’ve posted a lot of hints about this update over the past year. What do you think will be in it?”
