The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth’s sale discount prompts all-time concurrent player numbers

Original June 29– I bet I’m not the only one who messaged somebody this week and said something along the lines of: “The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is ridiculously cheap right now – now is the time.”

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Complete Bundle on Steam includes the base game and all of its major DLC expansions, and all of that content bundled together is currently 90% off. That’s less than £4 in King Charles Money, or just under $5 of Trump Tokens.

That is a very good price for an exceptional video game and all of its DLC, and this low barrier to entry has prompted a big surge in sales. I don’t know how many sales exactly, but it was enough to push the game to new heights and a significant milestone today.

The milestone in question is a new concurrent player count record, with 130,954 people all playing the game at the same time today, Monday, June 29th. Big congrats to Nicalis and Ed McMillen!

Update July 3 – I feel like I’m going to be updating this a few more times, because right now, at the time of writing, Isaac’s player count is currently at 147,401.

Update July 4 – Today’s total is 149,718.

Update July 9 – I’m writing this after the fact, because on July 7, the concurrent player number hit 156,156!
