Fans of hand-drawn art will be excited to hear that cosy first-person horror co-op roguelite Undermire debuted a new trailer announcing its official release date at the Cosy After Dark showcase.

And if cosy horror is your cup of tea, then Undermire’s demo might be a great way to spend an evening hiding from trick-or-treaters this month – and the trailer lines up a list of goodies for you to bag.

In this hand-drawn roguelite, you, a co-op buddy (or three) and a somewhat snarky ginger cat named McClane must navigate the Bunker, an ever-changing labyrinthine world hidden beneath an old British manor. Monsters here are driven by fear, mysteries abound, and hazards are… Well, the whole place is a hazard, frankly.

But don’t worry! You are armed to the teeth with… erm, whatever literal trash you can find down there. Find junk, SMUSH it together, and create new survival gear to guide you through the various biomes available.

Survival here is less about elite weaponry and a well-crafted plan, and more about winging it with whatever is lying around the place, and expecting to improvise when things inevitably go wrong.

Undermire is at the demo stage right now, but there’s already lots to do, and this trailer shows even more. Existing characters Hannah, Sam and Leo are joined by new playable character Rawiah who, armed with a spell tome, brings a bit of literal magic to the proceedings.

In the demo, players will also get their first look at the entire first layer of the Bunker, including a new grassy biome to play in – but look out for the Mothman…

Online co-op is for 1-4 players, and all four characters are fully playable. Proximity voice chat adds another layer of chaos as players can work, rest and panic together. Keep your cool, though – managing that fear gauge can be the difference between life and death…

The playable demo is free to play right now on Steam, and you can wishlist the game to stay up-to-date until launch – very aptly on Friday 13th November. Dare you enter the Undermire?
