Yes, you read that right. MMO roguelike hybrid 33 Immortals is officially making the leap to the Xbox One in the near future.
To ensure this version runs as smoothly as possible, developer Thunder Lotus will be hosting a playtest on 19th – 26th May through the Xbox Insider Program.
Whilst it’s annoying that we don’t yet have a release date, we’re pleased to see the game arrive on more platforms. With the game being fully online and requiring 22 – 33 players for its various modes, having more players to buddy up with should help its longevity.
Only time will tell, though, just how 33 Immortals will perform on the near 12-year-old console.
I had fun with 33 Immortals when it launched earlier this year, but it wasn’t without shortcomings. In my review of the Xbox Series version, I said, “With continued content updates, the game has the potential to evolve into something special, but for now, I’d recommend checking it out first on Xbox Game Pass.”

Awesome first-person rogues: Gunfire Reborn | We almost went with Blue Prince for this spot, but most people checking out first-person rogues probably want to wield a gun, you know?!
Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
