Welcome, Dear Peasants, to today’s news: 9 Kings, the autobattler from Sad Socket, is set to be crowned on PC on November 12th, with Hooded Horse putting the game out on all the stores it can find (that’s Steam, EGS, GOG, Microsoft, and it’ll be on PC Game Pass, too).
And so they should, because 9 Kings is a fantastic little game and you can bet your procedurally-generated bum that I’ll be playing this one when it leaves Early Access. I’m particularly excited to do so after seeing the plan for the 1.0 update, which adds quite a bit of new stuff.
According to Sad Socket – and why would they lie – the plan is to add custom deck creation features in 1.0. The new system will let you build new strategies by grabbing cards from across the different rulers and their decks. We can also expect rule modifiers to give us further customisation options.
On top of all the typical visual improvements and balance changes, another new feature that’ll be popular, I think, is the new daily quest system, which is intended for players looking to test themselves against unforeseen challenges.
We’re also getting “more Rainbow Cards to spice up gameplay with powerful boosts and plot level-ups,” and “27 new Decrees that will further shape the overall strategy with dynamic rule shifts.”
Finally, the presser also confirmed that 9 Kings is heading to Android and iOS on October 12th – good news for ye peasants on mobile! Now, behold the new 1.0 Release Date Trailer below!
