I definitely need more Souls-inspired rogues in my life, so I was pleased to learn about Cursemark from from solo dev CLYDE Games.
Releasing in Early Access on June 8th, the game is said to feature intense melee and spell casting combat, near limitless build variety, and dark mysterious for you to solve. Players can use runes to define their play style, changing the elemental abilities of their attacks.
Like more traditional Soulslikes, The Unknown Lands is brimming with hidden secrets, concealed passageways, and forgotten relics to uncover. Exploration and discovery seem to sit at the heart of the experience, with a marker-free map that offers minimal guidance and rewards curiosity.
According to a Q&A on its Steam profile, it will be in Early Access from six months to 2 years, and the full release is planned to include more areas, more spells, more Wards, and Ultimates, and a lot more Runes and Talismans.
A demo for Cursemark is now available on Steam. It has been live for a few months, but the devs have continued to improve it with new updates.
A couple of years back, Mike got the chance to preview developer CLYDE Games’ previous project Into the Necrovale and described it as “a diamond in the rough that needs a good ol’ polish before it truly sparkles.”
