I’ve got an interesting game to tell you about today in the form of Heroes Never Die, a newly announced bullet heaven hybrid by French indie outfit Ludogram (Monsters Are Coming).
Heroes Never Die puts you at the heart of an evolving fighting force, but instead of battling individual monsters, your army will meet other armies in the field of battle in chaotic real-time skirmishes.
There are going to be roughly 20 of the eponymous heroes, each with their own powers and strategies, and you’ll build a small army around them on the fly, hoping to defeat any who stand in your path!
As someone who likes both bullet heavens and strategy games, I think this hybrid has genuine potential. It looks very busy, but I like the retro 3D aesthetic, which reminds me a little of Ball X Pit. I also really like the premise of smushing together Vampire Survivors-style gameplay and RTS elements.
Heroes Never Die is scheduled to release in 2027, but there’ll be a playtest before then. Hit the link to the Steam PC (Win) page to wishlist the game and keep track of its progress!
