Cosmic horror roguelite Katanaut has received a content-packed new update to kick off the New Year.
The new Seasons Update adds three new biomes (Service Tunnels, Sewers, The Aether), new enemies and boss encounters, new blades (Weaver Fang and Leedra’s Scale), and much more.
It also introduces six global leaderboards relating to specific objectives such as most enemies killed, currency collected, and the fastest clear.
Alongside the update, developer Voidmaw also confirmed that Katanaut is in development for PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, with release dates to be announced soon. The game is also discounted by 33% off on Steam until January 19th.

Mike played Katanaut for review last September, and it was no secret that he was a big fan. He concluded his review by saying: “There are so many good games coming out at the moment, and it’s particularly brave to put out a metroidvania-inspired platformer just a week after Hollow Knight: Silksong, but Katanaut has enough about it to cut through the noise, and I’m glad I braved this new sci-fi horror roguelite.”
He also got the chance to catch up with developer Voidmaw on the game’s influences, development process, and future plans.
