Konfronto looks a little bit like FTL, but it has auto-battler elements. It is, however, a top-down sci-fi roguelike and you get into space battles, this time against the creations of other players.
Yesterday, the game got a big ol’ patch: the 0.8 update. It includes a bunch of new content, all of which is detailed in this forum post on Steam. The main addition is a new faction, the Sisters of Salvage.
The new faction landing in 0.8 precedes Konfronto’s big 1.0 exit from Early Access. When it does leave EA, it’ll do so with a more traditional roguelike campaign, so I’m looking forward to playing that.
Word on the street is that launch is going to be before the end of the year, however, there is a demo you can play if you want to try before you buy.
In a nice move, developer Flaming Fowl Studios (who previously made the adaptation of Gloomhaven) has added all of the new content to the demo, so you can experience the whole game for a limited time, until launch. Download it here if that sounds like your jam.
