Only days after calling April stacked in our monthly update, things have gotten even wilder as Morbid Metal is now launching April 8.
Published by Ubisoft and developed by German studio Screen Juice, the game is heading into Early Access with three playable characters, two biomes, and around 10 hours of main-path content.
An initial roadmap for Morbid Metal will also be shared during the Find Your Next Game Show on April 17. The team notes that plans aren’t set in stone and may evolve over time as player feedback comes in.
Set in a distant dystopian future, Morbid Metal is a fast-paced hack-and-slash roguelite. During its high-octane battles, players can seamlessly shift between several characters with their own unique abilities like changing weapons in an FPS. A demo for the game is still available for anybody still sitting on the fence.
Mike is currently hacking and slashing his way through this one and will be sharing his full thoughts in the next few days.
When he previewed the game during last June’s Steam Next Fest, he was impressed by the game’s visuals and sleek combat. In his preview, he said: “One of the standout aspects of Morbid Metal are the visuals. This is a seriously polished third-person actioner, and I can see why the game was signed up by Ubisoft.”
