Developed by Unicursal, this stylish-looking deckbuilder brings together a magic library full of corrupted spells, and hex-based combat against fantasy monsters to settle any disagreements you may encounter along the way!
It’s still early days, with little more than a description and a few screenshots to pin our hopes on, but I’m already sold on the visual style. It reminds me of the work of both Klei and Redhook, but stripped back a little. Put another way: it’s got tons of personality.
Another thing that I really like the sound of is the way the game will let you mix spells together to create different attacks. Cards have two different functions – primary and secondary – and you’ll be able to mix and match their effects during each turn.
You’ll then use your spell combos on the game’s hex-based battlefield, as you work to return order to your corrupted library and defeat all the creatures that have been summoned. Sounds fun!
There’s no release window beyond the year 2027, and Tomebound is so far only confirmed for PC, but at least it’s the full spread of Linux, Mac, and Windows. Head over to Steam now and do the whole wishlist thing!
