The final announcement from The Future Games Show, which we thought our readers would be interested in, is that sign-ups for the closed playtest of Shadowstone are now live.
As noted in the following Steam Blog, participation is limited and it’s encouraged that you sign up as soon as possible. The playtest is now live and is planned to run until the game launches in Early Access. Sadly, no progress from the playtest will carry over to the Early Access version.
Shadowstone, if you’re unaware, is a 1-4 player roguelite tactics game from Sunderfolk developer Secret Door. Survival here is said to hinge deliberate positining and utilising your hero’s unique skills.
The game is planned to launched at an unconfirmed date in 2026 on PC (Win).

Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
