Koei Tecmo is increasing Warriors: Abyss’s already massive character roster with a new addition from another of its flagship franchises.
Arriving this Friday (28th March) as part of a free update is Ryza, who you might already know from the Atelier Ryza “Secret” Trilogy.
Ryza’s arrival coincides nicely with the latest entry in the Atelier series, Atelier Yumia, which released on 21st March 2025.
We’re not too sure what perks Ryza will come with yet, but it’s nice to see a representative from another franchise join the existing line-up from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.
We had the opportunity to review Warriors: Abyss when it was released last month and described it as being a “perfectly competent rogue that’s worth taking for a spin.” You can check out our full review for this Musou roguelite spin-off here.

Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
