100 Rogues first arrived on iOS and Ouya (now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time…) well over a decade ago. That being the case, you’d be forgiven for not knowing much about it.
Despite disappearing for a while, it ended up being a fan favourite. And now, after many years out exploring dungeons and hacking down monsters in the wilderness, 100 Rogues has reappeared via a new incarnation over on Steam.
100 Rogues passed me by the first time around, but not now. After playing the demo ahead of time and enjoying its irreverent style, I’m keen to sit down with the full game now that it’s out.
If you’re not familiar with the game, the TL;DR version is that 100 Rogues is a pixel-art dungeon crawler and a traditional roguelike with proper turn-based gameplay, a good sense of humour, and four deep classes to explore.
It’s playable on PC (Linux and Windows), and you can check it out on Steam if you want to know more about this returning roguelike.
