My favourite deckbuilder of 2024 is back with a huge crossover update that brings collaborations with some of the greatest gaming franchises of all time: The Witcher, Among Us, Dave the Diver, and Vampire Survivors!
That’s right, Dear Reader, LocalThunk has delivered the second of three big reveals due this summer – the first being the announcement of a major update for 2025, while the third is yet to come (“I promise, the last one is also going to a banger,” wrote Wout from Playstack).
Regarding the new custom cards, LocalThunk wrote:“It was surreal having these conversations. Some of the biggest names in gaming praising my little project and wanting to collaborate—absolutely wild. I’m glad we made it happen!”
The free update, which is called the Friends of Jimbo, is available on all platforms (that’s PC, PS, Switch, and Xbox) and introduces four custom suits that can be added to your deck via the options menu. It’s super straightforward – even I managed it!
Simply put, the face cards (King, Queen, Jack) four all four suits (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades) have all been changed to reflect characters from the collabs mentioned above. My favourite are The Witcher-themed Spades – check out the trailer and see if you agree…

The best turn-based roguelikes: Caves of Qud | There are some seriously incredible turn-based roguelikes out there. Of all the modern games, these are the closest to the original Rogue.
Awesome first-person rogues: Gunfire Reborn | We almost went with Blue Prince for this spot, but most people checking out first-person rogues probably want to wield a gun, you know?!
Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
