Endless Dungeon holds a special place in my heart because it’s the first big game that I reviewed here on Rogueliker. As such, I’ve been keeping a beady eye on the game since launch, which I think it’s fair to say didn’t go as smoothly as developer Amplitude Studios would have wanted.
As part of the repair job required after the launch of the game, especially on console where it was very buggy, we’ve seen a concerted effort from the studio to add spit and polish, as well as bring new content to the game. That’s what we’re getting on June 20 in the form of the new Dead or Online update.
The new content drop will include a new playable character called Viggie the Locksmith, and she has been made in collaboration with the game’s community over the last few months. Players were able to help define “her origin story, personality, gameplay style, active skill, ultimate skill, alternate skin, and idle animation.”
Viggie will be available on PC and consoles at the same time, and she’ll land alongside new “Insta Havoc” and “Healing Fountain” turrets, and a new stun gun called the Cardiac Processing Unit.

Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
