Hey there, friends, welcome back to another entry in my release schedule round-up series – Gone Rogue – which once again is absolutely packed with interesting roguelike and roguelite games that have just launched, either in Early Access, the big 1.0 milestone, or a follow-up release on console.
The big difference from previous write-ups is that this one considers a longer period of time, as I’ve not been able to do much for the last couple of weeks. As such, I’ve have to be more selective than usual, otherwise I think this page would be simply overwhelming and unmanageable.
On top of skipping demos and prologue builds, I’ve also been passing over anything too raunchy, free-to-play stuff and anything blockchainy, or games that are very low effort. Other than that, it’s all fair game, with action-roguelites, roguelike deckbuilders, turn-based rogues, and much more besides.
From Die in the Dungeon to Jupiter Hell on Switch
As per, I’m putting what little money I have where my big fat mouth is, and I’ve picked up a couple of games from those listed below. When I’ve finally got the headspace to play them properly, expect to see some reviews for games including Die in the Dungeon, Fish Fear Me, Dawnfolk, Moonbase Lambda, and Gunforged. My lovely wife also took a shine to Grimoire Groves, so we picked that up, too.
This month’s cover game is Knights in Tight Spaces, and I did enjoy the first game in that burgeoning series. There are also some big hitters getting console releases, such as Spelunky 2 (on PS5) and Jupiter Hell (which is blasting its way onto the Switch). In fact, it has been a great month from Switch owners, with Star of Providence another of the games to make it on to Nintendo’s console.
I’ve managed to keep it just under 50 games, but that is still a lot to get through. So, grab a warm drink and get comfortable as we sift through a month’s worth of interesting roguish games, with platform and developer details, and as described in their own words. (PS. If you’re a dev and I missed your game – sorry).
