My teenage son just burst into the room to tell me about a new game from the developer of Vampire Survivors. He excitedly explained what Jujutsu Kaisen is and how the game will work, and before he finished talking, I had booted up the PC so I could pass the news along.

Jujutsu Kaisen featured in popular manga Weekly Shonen Jump (according to the Steam page, from Issue 14 of 2018 through to Issue 44 of 2024). It’s a popular series about battling manifested negative emotions, and it’s the focus of another poncle-directed fusion of genre ideas, which they’re calling the survivors royale.

While you will be able to play solo, the focus here is on eight-player battles. You’ll fight PvE most of the time and level up your character. Things get really interesting when you hit level 100, as you’ll be able to boost yourself while also disrupting your enemies. The top two players will eventually face each other to decide who wins that round.

The race to the showdown sounds chaotic, with bosses jumping into the action to really keep things spicy. Each of the 20+ characters on the roster will have their own special techniques, which sound like they’ll be tide-turning tricks to play at just the right moment.

Shueisha Games is the publisher behind this crossover project, which looks like a gentle evolution of Vampire Survivors gameplay with a fun competitive twist. As for a release date for Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton, it’s currently down as 2026. We also know that the plan is to bring the game to PC Steam (Win), Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is just the latest evolution of poncle’s enduringly popular game. For another interesting VS-themed crossover, check out our write-up of Vampire Crawlers!
