Moonlighter 2 is right near the top of the list of indie roguelite sequels that I’m eager to see more of, and it doesn’t sound like I’ve got too much longer to wait, after a release date was confirmed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live.
Digital Sun Games is working on the sequel with 11 bit Studios, and the plan is to bring the game to Early Access on PC and Xbox, although on Game Pass (Xbox and PC) it’s called the Game Preview Program or something zippy like that.
As for the when… Moonlighter 2 is heading to PC and Xbox on October 23rd, 2025. When it lands it’ll do so complete with three complete biomes, each with their own enemies. More importantly, there’ll be more than 120 relics to grab for re-sale on your store.
Players are also going to be treated to most of the game’s story, with the action “all built around an updated combat system featuring four main weapons, nearly 100 shop and dungeon perks, and a smoother, improved feel.”
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, to give it the full name treatment, also boasts a new art style, which you can see in much greater detail in the new trailer below. Check it out.
