If you’re after a new co-op boom fest, the next one lining up its best shot is SwapMeat, a Risk of Rain-inspired shooter with a funny limb-swapping mechanic.

SwapMeat sounds like a shooter made using my kids’ old toys. They used to have these superhero figures with detachable arms and legs, so you could put Wolverine’s arms on a Iron Man’s body, for example. This is a bit like that, but gross and funny.

The game has been through a series of public tests, as developer One More Game has continued to hone the experience over six previous limited trials. There’s time for one more, though, and it’s starting on September 4 (at 6pm here in the UK) and then running through until the end of September 9.

If you’d like to get involved, you can sign-up over on the official SwapMeat website, and doing so will bag you enough codes to fill a whole party.

As alluded to in the headline, this is the final playtest for the game ahead of its planned Early Access launch on PC (Mac, Win). That’s currently pencilled in for some time in October, but I’ll update you here with a conclusive SwapMeat release date when I have one.
