Just a quick news drop for you this evening, although perhaps “drop” isn’t the right word to use in a game about climbing… but I digress.
White Knuckle, the gut-wrenching first-person climbing roguelite from developer Dark Machine Games, has today received a notable content update, and as we have just discovered, it’s part of the game’s long-term roadmap.
The first update, as you can see from the infographic below, is the option to save and continue – a much requested feature, I’m sure. More interesting, however, are the game’s plans for the rest of this summer and beyond.
The Challenge Update is due in the next couple of months, and it promises to bring challenge maps and training features.
A couple of months after that the devs are looking to share the ominous-sounding Abyss Update, some time in Q3, 2025. That update will aim to bring expanded environments, as well as new biomes, perks and denizens.
Beyond that, in still-to-be-named future content updates, we’re promised even more regions, sub-regions, items and perks, seasonal events, difficulty modifiers (phew), and even new game modes.
This is all good news if you’re already grappling with White Knuckle. If you’re not, check out our Early Access review to find out more about this wicked little game.
