Thunder Lotus got in touch last week with news about the next big update for 33 Immortals, and we didn’t have to wait long for it to drop – in fact, you can play it right now!
Just in case you don’t already know, 33 Immortals is a co-op roguelite drenched in the lore of Dante’s Inferno. On that front, the new update has a most fitting name: The Pride and Temperance Update.
The new content drop is out now on all platforms across PC (Steam, Epic, and Xbox) and Xbox Series. What’s more, it adds two new weapons, a number of new chamber objectives, and the new ordeal system.
The name of the update relates to the new weapons, The Crossbows of Pride and the ol’ Glaive of Temperance. If you’ve been itching to change up the flow of the action, now is the time!
The new Ordeal system also sounds quite interesting, as it lets you tinker with the overall challenge. You’ll be able to stack them as you beat bosses, so it sounds like this is a feature for confident players who are looking to step up the intensity of the experience.
I’ve played a little bit of this one, but it was our Kieran who dived into the Early Access build for our 33 Immortals review.

The best turn-based roguelikes: Caves of Qud | There are some seriously incredible turn-based roguelikes out there. Of all the modern games, these are the closest to the original Rogue.
Awesome first-person rogues: Gunfire Reborn | We almost went with Blue Prince for this spot, but most people checking out first-person rogues probably want to wield a gun, you know?!
Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
Amazing action-roguelites: Hades 2 | And finally, let’s wrap things up with our favourite of them all. There’s no beating the original Hades, although Hades 2 comes pretty close!
