Darkest Dungeon II is a bit good, if you ask me, and enough people agree with that sentiment that publisher Skybound Games has decided publish the game and release a physical retail edition that contains one or two goodies intended to entice you in.

As of today, the console edition of the game is available on PS5, Switch, and Xbox, and it’ll cost $39.99 / 39,99 € / £34.99 / 179.00 zł – depending on where you live. Packed in with the disc/cartridge there’s an “intricate build-your-own stagecoach model” that replicates the one you spend all your time in while playing. There’s also going to be a digital code for the soundtrack on Bandcamp.

Inhuman Bondage

While we’re on the subject of Darkest Dungeon II, as I was reading around the game in preparation to write this, I found details around a new paid-for DLC expansion that I had completely missed.

The upcoming expansion is called Inhuman Bondage, and although there’s no release date, it should be “coming soon”. The new DLC not only reintroduces The Abomination, who can transform into a terrible monster, but it also adds a new region called The Catacombs.

Knowing the series as I do, I’m 100% certain that I don’t want to go these so-called catacombs, but hey, apparently it’s a “high risk, high reward mini-region where players will face off against a new faction of slime sodden enemies.”

Or as the PR copy over on the official Steam listing describes it:

“Ancient sepulchres oozing with the gelatinous night-soil of a thousand corpses.”

Yeesh.
