Lost Castle 2 is a plucky action-brawler set in a bold and engaging fantasy world, and as I recall I broadly liked it when I sampled its action-roguelite gameplay loop earlier this year.

Yet despite my appreciation of the game’s positve aspects, there were some teething issues at launch; problems that made Lost Castle 2 one to watch rather than an essential Early Access purchase.

As I wrote back in July, one of the issues I had was some trouble connecting to online servers. This connectivity issue made the absence of local co-op all the more noticeable. At launch, Lost Castle 2 sometimes felt just a little bit lonely.

The above being so, I’m pleased to report that today’s Early Access update on PC recitfies one of the game’s most notable issues by adding 2-4 player local co-op. There’s more to it than that, though, as the update delivers tweaks to a few of the other problems that people have had since launch.

As outlined in a post shared over on Steam, the update introduces an enhanced base camp, a new NPC with cosmetics and more to sell you, and powerful cursed treasure items each with a notable downside (apparently these curses can be purified at the Ethereal Life Spring).

On top of all that we got a whole new weapon type: the musket. I was also pleased to see that the jumping action had been added to all characters!
