Developer Passtech Games has revealed that legendary wizard Merlin will be the 12th new hero to join the roster of Ravenswatch.
Releasing in January 2026, Merlin can choose between nine spells that are split into three separate categories. These include:
Nature spells: summon colossal brambles, make it rain stars, or raise a stone shield that explodes on your enemies.
Arcane magic: cast lightning bolts through monsters, throw a fireball or unleash a frost orb that pursues your targets.
Sacred light: heal your wounds and those of your allies, blind your enemies and tear down their defences, or escape danger by teleporting away.
The Steam page also notes that Merlin generates power runes as he fights which amplify his spells and can create devastating combinations.
The DLC also contains four skins which can be unlocked in-game as well as three exclusive premium skins: a Ravenswatch outfit, a Nightmare outfit and a Royal Counselor outfit.
To celebrate the reveal, Ravenswatch is 50% off during the Steam Winter Sale. You can also Wishlist the Merlin DLC here.
In our review of Ravenswatch, Mike signed off by saying: “All told, Ravenswatch is a very good action-roguelite with a lot of subtle depth and nuance just waiting to be discovered.”

Cool roguelike deckbuilders: Balatro | Sorry, Slay the Spire fans, but this poker-solitaire deckbuilder has stolen Mike’s heart and won’t give it back.
Exciting roguelike platformers: Spelunky | Now, don’t get us wrong, Dead Cells is an incredible game, especially with all the DLC switched on. But when it comes to impact, you just can’t beat Spelunky.
