Following Balatro’s recent runaway success, poker roguelikes have flooded the market as developers scramble to replicate its formula.

One recent standout is The Devil’s Due, a newly announced title from Norwegian indie developer and best friend duo Games People Play, which was revealed this weekend at the OTK Games Expo.

After losing their soul in a poker match against the Devil, players must fight their way back to freedom. Facing a diverse gallery of monstrous foes, battles might seem impossible, but luckily cheating is an option.

Players can build poker hands to attack, use card values to defend, and pull dirty tricks when the odds turn against them. Cheating, bluffing, and swindling are encouraged, but be warned, if you raise too much suspicion then you face the risk of a hellish counterattack.

The wait for this one is a little long, however, as it’s planned to launch in Q2 2026 on PC. In the meantime, you can add it to your wishlist.
