With development largely wrapped up on the excellent Soulstone Survivors, developer and publisher Game Smithing Limited has unveiled its next project, which is set in the same universe.
Originally conceived as a quick game jam prototype, Veil of the Soulstones is a Soulstone Survivors spin-off that draws heavy inspiration from old school RPGS. The game’s Steam page describes it as being a brutal, challenging auto battler adventure that rewards curiosity, exploration and coordination, making it very much one to keep an eye on.
No release window has been revealed for Veil of the Soulstones, but Game Smithing has shared that it is looking for play testers and has encouraged fans to Wishlist and follow the game.
To celebrate the game’s announcement, Soulstone Survivors has received its biggest ever discount on Steam. The game is currently 50% off (£6.29) until 5th January, which is an absolute steal, if we do say so.
Game Smithing has also teased that a new update for Soulstone Survivors will be arriving at some point early next year. The game’s Christmas Update is out now and you can find out more about that here.
I had the chance to check out Soulstone Survivors when it exited Early Access and launched on PS5 earlier this year. I concluded my review on the content-rich rogue by saying: “Soulstone Survivors might not reinvent the wheel when it comes to survivors-likes, but it does offer incredible value and depth.”
