Batomon Showdown is a new PvP autobattler inspired by Pokémon, and it launched today, September 15th, on PC and mobile.
With the 1.0 version of the game launching, the demo was retired. This ended the pre-launch Season 0 competition and initiated Season 1, now that the game is out in the wild.
There are quite a few creature collectors out there, but Batomon Showdown caught my eye because it looks very multiplayer-focused. Said multiplayer is asynchronous, as you assemble teams of Batomon and take them into battle against your opponent’s team.

Like Pokémon, there’s also an emphasis on trainers almost as much as little monsters, and the Steam page explains that each one will bring their own special abilities to the party. Naturally, the focus is going to be on the pocket monsters, which we’re able to upgrade and combine to create overpowered builds for other players to try.
As mentioned, developer berrymint has shut down the Season 0 leaderboards associated with the old demo, and now it’s full speed ahead for Batomon Showdown and Season 1, which is out now on PC (Win) and Android, with an iOS version still to follow.
