The fifth region just arrived in White Knuckle, the first-person climbing roguelike that we’ve been enjoying since it hit Early Access last year. The new region actually shares the same name as the update and is therefore called: The Nest.
The new area includes four areas, two of which shift around for each run, so you’ll get the starting area, then Infested Labs or Hot Zone, followed by Feeding Trough. Beating The Nest will also unlock the new Endless Mode.
The region is described as an “alien jungle […] full of a massive variety of dangerous wildlife. From Sprider swarms, to packs of Grub Aunts, to shambling Barnacles.” Those Barnacles are basically zombies, by the way, so watch out…

There’s a new character called The Grub Mother, whom you’ll have to save from The Mass, which returns once more. In fact, it sounds like there are several new enemy types to contend with.
New items are mentioned, including The Handgun, which sounds a little bit useful, doesn’t it?! I also like the idea of the Signal Orchids, which will give you something new to hang on to. New artefacts, The Rapier and The Barnacle Hook, also sound plenty interesting.
If you want the full changelog and details about all of the new items, major and minor, head to the game’s Steam page.
Finally, the penultimate region was teased, while the full release of White Knuckle is still down as coming in 2027.
