Lonestar is a spaceship game that looks a bit like FTL but has a Cobalt Core approach to positioning and engine-building. I really liked it when I played it for review, so when I saw what the team behind Lonestar were working on next, I figured it was worth a closer look.

The studio behind Lonestar is Math Tide, and this dynamic duo (and their cat) are back with Draw & Stow, which has just got a new Steam page.

What I think I like most about Draw & Stow is just how different it is from Lonestar, although there are some similarities, including both games having a big focus on synergising. The setup is sweet, too, as revealed by the Math Tide team:

After finishing development on LONESTAR, Dongdong, the studio’s star cat, stretched, yawned, and dozed off. Over the course of several dreams, Dongdong caused one disaster after another: a shop on the brink of bankruptcy, a castle under siege, and a restaurant rating that has one cat in a panic. In Draw & Stow, players step into Dongdong’s dreams and use strategy and ingenuity to fix the mess.

Ok, so we’ve shifted from intergalactic bounty hunter to cat’s fever dream…

On top of a strange but charming setting, Draw & Stow sounds like it has gameplay variety on offer via the different roles players can explore, including travelling merchant, villain hunter, or master chief.

At the heart of things is a mixture of deckbuilding and inventory management, and then using your gear to trigger chain reactions.

It all sounds fun and wholesome, and I’m ready for it. When that will be remains shrouded in mystery, though, with Draw & Stow’s release date on PC (Win) still to be confirmed.
