Echoes of Mystralia is part of a new wave of action-roguelites inspired by Hades, and I quite enjoyed my first look at the game back in the summer, following its arrival into Early Access.
Borealys Games, the team behind Echoes of Mystralia (and Lunchbreak Tactics), has been busy since the new magic-powered roguelite hit Early Access on PC (Win) earlier this August, and now they’re ready to share the fruits of their labour.
The new update is called All You Can Cast, and it adds a new training area called Azimuth’s Basement to the game, so you can sharpen up those skills with less pressure to get it right the first time, with help from new dummy configurations and behaviours.
The new Basement also includes something called the Vault of Memories, a new way to access and experiment with anything you’ve encountered/unlocked in the game.
On top of that, there are a bunch of new memories in the game now, as well as new animations and whatnot to go with. As well as that, several of the Watcher’s Duties now have new tier challenges.
Naturally, as it’s a major update, there are also plenty of tweaks and bug fixes in there, but you’ll have to dig through the patch notes on Steam if you want all the details.
Finally, there’s a roadmap for the studio’s path through Early Access, which isn’t new but is worth sharing, I think. We’ve got the All You Can Cast update in the bag, so next up it looks like it’s going to be Perils of the Rift, which will include a new Ascension system, endgame challenges, and fresh story elements to experience.
