Vellum, the third-person action roguelite about teaming up with magic-powered scribes and taking on story-based challenges, has just been given a big boost via a massive new content update.

The Storyboard Update includes a boss rush mode, which takes advantage of the 13 new bosses that have just been added to the game. Long story short, you’ll have to pick from a bingo card full of mean-faced monsters as you work towards fighting one of two new so-called Showdown Bosses.

Completing lines earns you a targeted Page of Power. Bosses will have their own Torn Pages, with abilities passed on to future bosses, so watch out. You’ll have to beat seven of these things before the aforementioned Showdown Boss arrives.

FWIW: If you’re up for the new challenge, you can find Storyboard in the Raid Antechamber, but you’ll need to finish the Rivals tome first.

If you’re not already on board with Vellum, check it out on Steam (and if you read this over the weekend around June 6th, you may find it heavily discounted).
